Lifestyle design, bacon, and data loss.

My name is Jon, and I’m a lifestyle design junkie.

[HI JON]

It’s time that I face the facts – I’m infatuated with learning how to accomplish more whilst doing less.

It’s gotten to the point where I waste hours of my life reading on how I can be more productive with my time. I actually let bacon burn on the stove because I was too immersed in an article on how to tie my shoes tighter.

It’s sad, I know. But I love it. There’s just something about designing logos on the beach:

Looks like a waste of the beach to me.

Actually, there isn’t. In all my (un)productive hours, the only real hacks that seem to matter are the ones that give me some decent peace of mind. No double knot in the world puts me at ease like knowing things will

just.

work.

That’s why you should check out my buddy Rob Granholm. I stumbled upon his projects when I saw him in an interview discussing how he outsources his freelance job hunt. The video alone is well worth the time for anyone who is currently selling their soul on elance.

One of Rob’s more recent projects is Backup Informer. It’s a dead-simple solution guide to backing up your digital life. Rob was kind enough to give me a sneak peek, and since then I’ve started using two of the applications from the book (I plan on using three).

Hell, he even gave me a copy to pass along, so if you’re interested, just be the first person to let me know. Rob has spent several months testing out the best backup solutions for computer data, and frankly, it beats buying back all your old iTunes.

Drop me a line if you want to check out the Backup Informer, or just check out Rob’s IT Arsenal page for yourself.
